Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta (formerly Facebook), has said Instagram will begin testing non-fungible tokens (NFT) integrations this week

Zuckerberg who spoke in a video the on Monday said the platform will work with blockchains such as Polygon, Ethereum, Solana, and Flow. He, however, did not state which blockchains will be supported.

Zuckerberg said in the video:

“We’re starting building for NFTs not just in our metaverse and Reality Labs work, but also across our family of apps. We’re going to bring similar functionality to Facebook soon.”

While the company is working on three-dimensional augmented-reality NFTs which will target Instagram stories compatibility, a company representative, in a series of tweets, said the compatible third-party wallet will be MetaMask, Rainbow, and TrustWallet. Plugging in their wallets, users will be able to prove NFT ownership, showcase them on their profiles, and tag the creators who made them.

The integrations will be for Ethereum, Solana, Flow, and Polygon as these networks support vast trading in digital collectibles.
